Now you can download Tik Tok for Android smartphones and tablets ( Musical.ly ) for free. TikTok is a Chinese platform for videos and has now managed to take over Musical.ly. This creates a merger of the already existing two powerhouses. The app actually goes by the name Douyin in China and has more than three hundred million users, active each month. This far exceeds Musical.ly’s reach of only about one-third that number.

TikTok itself is reminiscent of the old Vine videos, where users can upload very short videos. However, there is no music or song emphasis as you were use to seeing on Musical.ly.
The co-founder of Musical.ly is Alex Zhu, who is now the senior vice president of the TikTok app. He has stated that he is excited to see this new chapter opening with the Chinese company. He said that they want to capture the creativity as well as knowledge of the world under a brand new name, prompting everyone to stay aware of how precious each moment of life really is. He also said that combining the two companies only seemed natural, since the mission of both was to allow everyone to actually become a creator.
If you were active on the Musical.ly platform, and fear your may have lost your content, you have nothing to worry about. All of that content can now be found on TikTok now.
